Will Hurricane Dorian Affect My Sale?

Updated: Dec 7, 2019

Q.  I'm an oceanfront seller in Jax Beach. Will hurricane Dorian affect our local market?

A.  It's really too soon to tell.  There's no denying  that the increase in hurricane activity may give some oceanfront buyers pause. After Mathew hit in 2016, I remember clearly that buyer activity dwindled for weeks afterwards. And if you recall after Irma, flooding in Jacksonville occurred in areas that were no where near the ocean.  With 3 major hurricanes affecting us in just 4 years, at what point do waterfront buyers say enough?  But there is good news if you own oceanfront property...they're not making anymore of it. There will always be people yearning to live on the water and willing to pay the price and incur the risk to live their dream.  So to answer your question, only time will tell.  Good luck with your sale.
