Should You Do a Short Sale?

Q.  I just lost my job and need to sell my home. My attorney suggested a short sale. How does that work?

A.  Before you venture down the short sale path, check with a local Realtor on your equity position.  With 2019 being one of the strongest real estate markets in recent memory, your equity position may be stronger than you realize.  Most sellers make the mistake of looking at the online portals to figure their selling price. That is absolutely not the way to go.  You should meet with a local Realtor to determine what your home is worth and a map out a strategy for obtaining the best price and terms.  You may not need to sell short after all.  Good luck.
