Do I Need An Attorney When I Sell My #Jax Home?

Updated: Jul 19, 2018

Q. Do I need an attorney when I sell my home? I'm planning to sell later this year.

A.  Each state has it's own customary practices when it comes to real estate and although it is not required in Florida to have an attorney handle your sale, I would strongly recommend having one present.  Many of our local closing agents have an attorney on staff who will preside over your closing for little to no additional charge.  In today's day and age closing documents are more involved than ever.  And with many of our homes having numerous prior owners, the chain of title can be long and complex.  Whether you decide to hire your own attorney or not, please make sure you have a good Realtor on your side.  If you need the name of a good attorney or Realtor who handles your area, please contact me.
