5 Tips on Saving When Selling
Q. Everyone talks about how to save money when buying a home, but what about when selling a home?
A. Great question. There many thing you and your Realtor can do to save hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars when selling a home. Here are my top five tips. At closing use an existing survey and elevation certificate rather than paying for a new one. Ask for a re-issue credit on your title insurance if you qualify. Don't forget to file for homestead exemption if you purchased a Florida, primary residence and ask about tax portability if you're selling a Florida homesteaded property and buying another. And if the home you're selling is vacant. shutoff non-essential appliances and raise your thermostat. Finally make sure your closing is completed and your mortgage is paid off before the 1st of the month to avoid paying accrued interest. I hope this helps.
